93 ranger 3/4 ton sas with leaf leaf springs and v8 swap

ill let ya know what happens when i drive it down the road for the first time.

if u didnt say something i was going to....the fact that u want to drive this truck on a the street is a joke.....

there is alot in building a truck you havent taken into consideration

just please do some real research and fix the issues before u attempt driving and getting this thing impounded on the street

Please don't take this the wrong way. The following is meant to be constructive criticism.

The front spring hangers on your truck are too long and therefore significant leverage is going to be exerted on them. Not to mention the fact that it will kill your approach angle. Second, the shackle angle on your front springs is very poor, they should be closer to 45* rather than 90*. Third, the way you have out-boarded your springs in the rear is not only unsightly, but it created a lot of unnecessary, extra work. It would have been easier and better to simply relocate the spring perches on the axle that way the pinion angle could be adjusted at the same time.

While trying to save money admirable there are some things that you just can't skimp on.

I truly hope you don't plan on driving this truck on the street. I suggest you do some research before continuing with this project for your safety and the safety of others around you.

Unfortunately, I see a lot of hack-job trucks in Florida so you probably haven't had a chance to see very many good examples of quality fabrication. Good luck with your project.

like i said ill let you know what happens when i drive it.

another idiot hacking up a perfectly good truck , with equally sharp idiots encouraging him...
The gene pool is getting shallower by the day.

X3 and on another note, I dont see that modified working out very well in ANY way shape or form. those things were called boat anchors for a reason!
Seriously though, I will be willing to bet you will be losing power with that modified versus the injected engine you had. If both engines were properly tuned.
If your determined to carb the truck why not put the 302 back in and change the intake and bolt on a carb. and oh yea change out your coil packs for a dizzy.

Honestly just let him do what he wants, he will find out soon enough how janky he just made his truck

i do agree that it dont look safe at all and i wouldnt want to be on the same road with him but what can we do? if hes set to do it than oh well they will learn from their mistakes

ha! my 351 modified in my 79 bronco can SMOKE the efi 302 HO in my 87 mustang

x2 i wouldnt ever build a truck like this but it is his truck and his $ and im all the way in canada so i dont have to worry about being on the same streets as him lol

its holding up just fine so far so keep talkin yall's shit

but you havent even driven it yet! let alone wheel it! lol

Exactly! So how can any of you say it doesn't work. Have any of you built your truck this way? If not than you have no idea if it's gonna work or not so the day it breaks I will openly post it for all of you to say and criticize all you want to and tell me what's wrong with but until than I would appreciate th shut talking to stop the first guy was half way nice about but everyone else was bein dicks about it. Had you all been nice about it I would of took the criticism And appreciated it. Now if any of you want to post some pics on my thread of a good way to make the front hangers and still get the lift out of them without reaching the springs please be my guest but if not friendly criticism and help is appreciated. Just don't say it rudely. Thank you.

will do! :icon_thumby: what a hunk of Sh*t!!!!

naw just kidding lol. and not that i think your going for articlation at all but the longer shackle you use you get more flex to a point.
are you talking about the front hangers? or the shackle hangers

yeah im not really goin for flex. But ive been researching and havent found anything about the front hangars being to long.

the issue with the length of the front hangers is there is no lateral support, also that much drop with STOCK springs will ride as if u took a block and just put it under the axle tube, not safe, it wont steer i can garuntee that.

but hey.....ive only built full chassis trucks, what the **** do i know:thefinger:
