Hey, I was just wondering about the feasibility of swapping the suspension from a 92 Explorer 4x4 into my 92 Ranger 4x2 3.0. Last year I bought new tires for my Ranger, and got the alternate Explorer size P235/75R15 (I upgraded to 15in rims 20 years ago). I have had issues with tire rub when I hit big enough bumps in the road since I got the tires. I possibly have access to a 92 Explorer 4x4, and was wondering how big of a hassle it would be to swap them out. Any input and/or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Well... you will need to swap the engine cross member from the Explorer into the Ranger. You'll have to have engines out of both trucks to do it, it's welded to the frame in several locations and there are a bunch of rivets to cut out. After you've done that, you'll need to put the front axle from the Explorer in and you'll still be left with a truck that has a 2wd transmission... so to have functional 4 wheel drive, you'll need a 4x4 trans, transfer case, shifters, and a rear driveshaft. Huge project.

Easiest solution if you're just looking to fix the tire rubbing is a small lift... coil spacers in the front or taller springs, and either add-a-leaf or blocks in the rear, and an alignment.
