This is a junkyard tranny and it hasn't been installed yet. I was removing the engine/trans as a unit when the problem occurred. I had disconnected everything when the front end loader tried to remove it from the truck. I had forgotten to remove the stick shift! I think something got bent inside the trans. Can this be fixed??

Maybe. Try removing the shifter. When you look down the hole make sure all the various metal pieces [<< truly technical jargon ;) ] are aligned from side to side and front to back. One side should be a mirror image of the other. You can use a long screwdriver to manipulate the pieces. Then re-install a shifter to see if it works.
Good luck,

Richard

Thanks, I'll give it a try this afternoon.

It's fixed, but...

But all the parts pictured were not in there, when I took the top plate off. I had two wavy washers, and that's it. I think I need a new gold top plate, gasket, and whatever is missing (including one Torx screw).

Here are some pics!

What is that device on the driver's side of the trans that looks like it can be adjusted...right below the shifter?

How do you get the slave cylinder off? I need to put in a new master/slave combo and bleed it!!!

Do any of you'se guys know how to take a clutch and brake pedal off a Ranger? Need one to complete my conversion.

I have that same year truck, if you'd like I can take mine apart and see tomorrow for you.

I think I'm going to leave the slave cyl alone. Don't fix what's not broken. However, I cant see replacing the master cyl and not the slave cyl. A diagram says to remove the four bolts I did remove, and it will come out. I think it has a gasket hat needs to be destroyed, first, so I will leave it alone, unless there are other suggestions.
