i have a 4" lift for it.going to build new bumpers for it and do an sas on front with full width stuff...probably a d44 front and 8.8 f150 rear.i would like a 4link rear with air shocks front and rear...no springs to worry about...we will see.

ok here is the first set up...

thanks for all the comment about my truck..makes me feel like its a chevy or something...not a ranger project on a ranger enthusiast site.is my truck not worthy???? what gives?

Sometime it is really easy for a thread to get over looked in this section. Other time people really just have nothing to say. When I posted my build thread it was a little over a week before I got anyone to reply to it, and it was because I did just like you did, wander why nobody had. It'd now at 8 posts total (all but two by me) and buried about 4 pages into this forum. But That's because I haven't updated it in almost a month, nothing really new to add. Hopefully that'll change soon.

Not really what I'd call a flat bed, looks more like the start of a classic step side bed. At first I was wandering why you didn't build it a little narrower then when I saw the box it all made sense. You going to do anything about that filler neck, looks like it should have some kind of protection.

I think as you progress you'll probably get a little more interest.

thank you for the responce, sometimes it does take a while...but over 70 views and no nothing...just had me wondering if it was really posting..lol
yes the filler neck is getting rerouted to inside the bed next to the hi-lift.yes the bed does look alot like an early stepside....but i am still working on it...all just mock up right now,all the square tube will be round.it will start to narrow from behind the toolbox to the end of the bed.the part in front of the box will be the starting points for a semi exo cage...a main loop that sticks out about 2" from the cab back and sides, running down to slider towards the front and wheelwells towards the back...hope that made sence..lol.

Sweet Ranger, I like the color:D
Nice work on making the old trailer into a bed,
it looks like you will have plenty of cargo space.
I wish mine came with a 4.0

Any reason why you have the bed sides so high?? Any plans to upgrade the drivetrain?? Looks good so far...

When You go to do your SAS, you can easily get your 6 inches of lift you are wanting. Total for my D30 SAS with the tires got 7 in the front a 8 in the rear.

coool,i think i will keep the 4.0 and tranny and transfer case...the biggest tire i will run is a 33"..i just want the full widths for the added track and the straight axle front.
ranger svt..its an old trailer that i made into a bed.and its still in the building process.
crawlin your ranger is sweet,i like it alot
thanks everyone for the comments and encouragement.

ok my clutch is slipping bad now...should i just replace the clutch or should i go to an automatic?i like the more technical wheelin like climbing and off camber stuff.mud is not that fun and gets boring quick.so a auto would be better suited for me but i would suffer on performance.the 5 spd is fun to drive good responce and all that but what about in a hill climb with the chance or rolling back when you dont want to.give me your input on what you would do nand why...thanks

Keep the manual tranny. As for rolling down a hill, takes practice to not have it do that when taking off, I play with my clutch and gas to keep it from back on a hill.

I built my truck for mudding, not much rock crawling around me.

It can go either way, but if you rocks are in your future, a doubler is about as useful as a parking brake when parked on a hill...Since you don't want to go that route (unless you change your mind), auto would be a good choice, or learn to slip the clutch a little while wheeling...
