So ive searched around and saw how other people have connected there p/s lines to the gm P style saginaw pumps but they all had this adapter block.
the trouble with the gm pump is it is an inverted flare connection, while my pressure line is not. it screws in just fine, but it doesnt seat, so it leaks like an Em Effer.
I looked around for a 14mm inverted flare male to 3/8 x 18 female adapter so I could screw the 2 together but alas, no such luck.
i was informed through other threads that the 1st gen ranger ps line is the one I want, but you also need that square block. ( shiny one is 1st gen) that is another type of adapter I could not source out. its a banjo bolt connection to a ranger inverted flare connection. I bought it that line and will soon be returning that line. I have the other type of connection shown in the picture.
so what did I do? I put to use my welding skills, thats what.
I unscrewed the female end from my seized ranger ps pump and cut the threads off were the tiny little hole is. and beveled the lip just a tad. then I unscrewed the saginaw connection and cleaned off every trace of oil from everywhere relevant. the ford connection sat perfectly in the threaded female portion of the gm fitting. I screwed the spare male end of the ranger line into the female and stuck them both in the hole, giggity.
then I tig'd everything up slowly as to not add too much heat and eff up the threads on the gm side. jobs done.
I now have an inverted flare gm connection that will accept the ford male end of my ps line. now we will see how well it holds.
