91 ranger 40 lb fuel rail pressure & no injector signal, has great spark, starts using starting fluid. I suspect (ETS) engine temperature sensor or
(IAT) intake air temperature sensor.
I pulled and made resistance measurements on the (ETS) at 75 degrees = 30.4 K ohms. at 212 degrees = 2.1 K ohms.
what should the resistance range be and will the (EEC) stop injectors from opening?
THANKS FOR REPLY

bump (NO INJECTOR, EEC GURU'ES UT THERE TO HELP? )

Good mornin..

I may not be much help to you as i only work one eec-IV stuff thru 88..but a few thought come to mind..when did this start?..after some other work being done?, In other words..for someone to help you it may help to have more info..

I purchased an 88 B2 that had an intermittent non start problem...turns out that the guy who had recently changed the motor left a ground wire loose on the coil..something simple..but had me towed once..i found this when i put a new coil one trying to solve the problem..the ground wire for the injectors..there were other ground issues as well.

you made some comments about what you thought it may be...so you seems to be analytical..and have testing gear..this engine needs to be well grounded..hang in there..

after re-reading your post post it seems ur missing a signal..maybe tracing the basics might help...

a good sight in case you don't have it..

starting from the pip signal and on thru...the puter needs the "all systems go" to fire the jectors....and of course good continuity in the wiring..

will it run after it starts using starter fluid?

Im no expert on EEC-IV, but when I did research to try and troubleshoot mine, it seemed like it has some parameters that allow it to run (poorly, but run) without sensor input.

Can you pull your fuel rail and see if you spray gas all over when it cranks over?

Good luck! Post it if you figure it out.

I would start by checking by using a noid light on the injectors to see if the injector is getting signal, then check the signal from the trigger (ignition module). You are getting spark, so I doubt it could be your crank sensor. I had a similar issue with my 4.6 liter mustang. hmmm interesting before resorting to how I fixed my 'stang, I would use deductive reasoning to figure out what is wrong. In other words, test signal to injectors (noids) test signal from ignition module, signal (hall effect) should be fine but test anyways, if no findings dig even further.
