Aftermarket tachometers.

WHY THE F do they all go up to useless RPMS?? Do they think that everybody has a 9000 redline? It annoys me. I can't seem to find one on the market that is what I want.
I want a tach that uses 230-300 degrees of travel and goes up to 6000-6500. I think the tach is the most satisfying gauge. 3-5" would be nice to, whatever to replace the stocker. I have been considering getting a low-bling kenworth tach. It tops out at 5000, how often am I going to be taking this V8 over 5000? pretty rare in my case.

We live in a supply and demand marketplace and it boggles me that I can't find what I'm looking for. If you google it in 3 minutes and post a link to make me look like a fool I wont even be mad. I'll just be happy, lol.

So I have been searching online,

and I can't help but feel the same. there is 1983747593472362384094 tachs available that go to 8,9, even 10 grand. WHO THE F uses these? I'd like to see the 'ricers' that actually threaten 9000 revs.

Yes there IS some people who will use these revs, but these tachs take up 98% of the market. Just seems odd to me.

I think my 'point' is being missed.

Supply and demand market place. I must have my head in the sand if everyone else buying aftermarket tachs has these fantastical 8000rpm redline engines and I'm back here in the stone age redlining at 5500.

Now do you see my point?

The red area in my Plymouth Laser didn't start until 7K, and went up to 9k. I never took it up that high but that is what was on the factory tach.

The higher the tach reads, the more horsepower you get.

It's 10 hp for every extra 1,000 from the factory redline. ;missingteeth;

I think my cheap $40 7 color reads 11K. It very rarely even sees half of that, but it's better than nothing. I also have a Drag-N-Tach lying around, but it's just completely ridiculous.

Here we go, I think I can stomach this.

5" face. vertically centered numbers, good range, white face, I like it.

Do you guys find it satisfying to make that tach needle dance? I do. I think this all goes back to having that 4 brl carb, and haveing the engine roar when the secondary opened up.

Fair enough, solid point. I still feel that the high range tach does not accurately represent the North American engine population. But I'm sure that now that I have said that there will be many people out to prove me wrong, lol. np

Why produce an items that everyone can use $$$$. If you make a tach to lets say 6,000rpm then then you limit who can use it, but make one that goes to 12,000 rpm and everyone fall in that range. Its all about the $. It does not cost anymore to make one that goes to 12,000 rpm then it does 6,000 rpm but has a wider market range.
