I'm partway through replacing the broken front coil bucket on my '87 B2 (4x4, AT), and thought it might be a good time to replace the shocks and add a coil spacer. I'm running tires that are slightly big and rub on the coil at the fully turned position. I don't use my B2 for recreational/serious offroading, so I'm not interested in significant modifications or high lift, just upgrading from stock when replacement time comes.
These low cost 1" coil spacers are available on the JC Whitney website (Item# ZX840661Y) for $9.99 each, and I'm wondering if this might be a low cost way to get a small amount of lift without causing other issues.

I also wondered if anyone had any experience with the JC Whitney Rough Country Nitro 9000 shocks (Item # ZX382358W)? Good? Okay? Not? At $35 each, they seem affordable.

Also, what is the most economical way to restore rear spring lift, maybe adding no more than 1" of extra lift, while keeping suspension compliant for mostly street/highway use? Would an add-a-leaf kit do this without over-stiffening the rear?

Any help appreciated. Thanks.
