I have a 90 ranger originally a 2.9 fm132 5 speed 2wd i did the 4.0 swap and also swapped to a m5odr1 from a 93 explorer well everything bolted up nice truck runs great except i have no clutch. The clutch line disconnect at the slave apparently is a different size and every parts place i have been to show the same line for rangers and explorers not even giving a option for different transmissions. So my question is can i throw in a ranger 4.0 slave. And use my stock line, could i use my 2.9 fm132 slave on the m5odr1 looks pretty similar, or is there any vehicle i could theck that would have the bigger line im talking about at a scrap yard.

If you have both slaves out where you can measure them, I would try the 2.9 slave if it measures the same. Be really careful when you measure to be sure they are the same dimensions. Best bet would be, get the master that operates the 4.0 slave if it will fit OK.

Go with 4.0 parts . The 4.0 has a 10 " clutch, so you prolly need more oomph than the 2.9 parts can provide. :D
