hello i have a 1989 ranger super can 2.9 with the 5 speed when i drive it and go up about 2 or 3 hills it starts to bog down rpms drop and it keeps bogging down and losing speed even on a flat road at about 3000 rpm it will bog down. I have replaced fuel filter and checked all vacuum hoses and electrical connectors also i have found out if and when it does this if u pull over and shut off engine for a min or so and restart it it will run fine for about 3 miles and it will start to act up again a mechanic friend said it sounded like the fuel pump was sucking dirt up like the pickup was getting blocked what do you guys and gals think? please help fordman_19912000@yahoo.com

sounds the Catalytic Converter might be clogged or exhaust pinched shut
