I'm sick of seeing them called 63" springs.

They are 63" when bound up with the other leafs.
Isn't that why they are called 63"?
Is there a standard way to measure a leaf spring that I am not aware of?
From now on I will just call them 88-98 chevy 1500 leaf springs.

looks great, you have spent a lot of time on this and money. I'm jealous, my 89 xlt ranger is rusted out from Ohio salt now in Nv no rust here. do u still have the 2.9 ?

I hate rust!!!

I am in Oregon, so no salt but lots of water. My Grandfather always kept the ranger nice, clean, and dry though :icon_thumby:

Ya I still have the 2.9......
I have a 4.0 ready to go in though. My twin and I just did the 4.0 swap in his rig.

Did you set your shocks to fully extend with the spring relaxed?

There is more down travel, the tire's weight will pull the springs down further.

I flexed mine out from all 4 corners, took the longest measurement and added 1.5".

There's not that much weight on the studs.

That was just for looks to give everyone an idea.
I flexed it out and I am no where near maxing them out.
I have completed pictures I just have not put them on yet.
However, it is not the tires' weight that pulls the springs down. That has a little to do with it, but most of if comes from the opposite action from the compressed spring side.

So here are the final pictures.
I added 2" add-a-leaf, got rid of my stock block and put a 3" block in backwards to fix my pinion angle. I added the normal lift shackles everyone else uses. I also made a new e-brake cable holder. :icon_thumby:

Don't make me bust out engineering tensile strength properties to prove it too you.
Ford even made stock shock mounts up front in single lol
Plenty strong for this application.
