89 B2 locking hub oring

I can't seem to find a part or information regarding the size/thickness of the hub oring. I saw the sticky regarding a 3.5" x 3/32" but that's not for mine. Anybody have a part number or size or recommendation of how much/which type of RTV?

NAPA doesn't have a reference on dimensions and they couldn't cross reference anything with Ford; Ford stated it was discontinued and "can't see the dimensions". O'reillys stated the only way they could get them was with a new hub kit which is like $250 per side... no thanks. For that I could go get the axles and swap them out, lol

recommendation of how much/which type of RTV?

I sealed a rear end with black silicone sealant [I think rtv] and have no leaks. I ran a bead about 1/8" to 1/4" and flattened it to 1/8" thick. Let it dry for at least a day then install. What you're trying to do when drying is to make it so it doesn't stick to the other side. The same procedure should work for hubs.

It seems the D35 uses a bigger o-ring... probably what the sticky is for.

Might give Warn a jingle and report back, short of buying the $30+ kit it seems like a good option if you don't want to silicone.

One spindle had no oring and the other fell apart as I took the hub off... no measuring... I found a kit on Amazon that says it fit my car (stock 89). But the picture shows what looks like two for a D28 and two for a D35; guess I'll see Monday.

And if it shows and doesn't fit, it'll get RTVd

for D35 hubs, these will fit. (from McMaster-Carr) Yes, you end up with a lot of extra o-rings, but they're inexpensive. Share with your friends. Still a good source once you know what the measurement is. I believe I called Warn asking about o-rings and the person I spoke with gave me the dimensions.
