88 2ltr weber mod

I just did that same thing to mine. But I bought the whole kit with the adapter plate. You did not do that? Not that there is anything wrong with how you did it mine worked out great and i had had most of the other stuff out off the way already. I am getting 18mpg right now before it was 20mpg, I am asuming that is because the webber is a little bigger than the original. What is your MPG?

I read a little more about where you got the carb. I got mine from http://www.carburetion.com/ and they sell the whole kit for the 2.0 for $300 now i asked for the one with the manual choke. The one listed is the one with the electric coke and i was sick of all the electric stuff on the old carb. I called them by the way i did not order it on the net i just checked it out. You will have to get new studs for the intake manifold for it to work with the adapter plate. they are 8mmX1.25 I just went to ace hardware and got some two inch bolts and cut the hex end off. Make sure they have threads the whole length of the bolt because you have to measure to get it right. i bought extra just in case plus they were hard to find.

I got my header on today and tapped to 4 holes on the head. What did you use to cap the port near the bottom of the header off with? Thanks

sorry i am just getting back to you computer was down.
anyways I took it to the muffler shop and had it welded up for $5. I had them weld just the inside so later on I could drill it out and hook up a air fuel gauge.

I did mine before they had a kit. I showed him what I did and explained to him about the aisin carb problem. and there was no other fix to pass emissions in washington state so he figured out what was needed and started marketing a kit.
what is funny is my truck still won't pass emissions it is worse now than ever but it runs great and gets better mileage than it ever has i am averaging 17 mixed. it was getting 14 with the other carb.

Heater hose in Pix

The heater hose that runs from the Tee fittting at the valve cover runs around the back of the engine and connects where? Thanks

The hose connects to the intake manifold and flows through the intake to the head...there is a hole between #2 and #3 piston chambers for coolant flow...
