87 ranger 4.0 swap

Axles, rear leaf springs?

Oh yes, front and rear axles also. and leaf springs. Then i decided to just do a small lift for 33"s and a few mods then start puttin back in my powerstroke fund!

Picked up a starter, alternator and a few sensors i was missing today. Ill be out of town until the 25th. Merry Christmas guys!

Well, ive been back home for a few days now but ive been busy with work, start at 9am get off at 5 when its cold and dark so not much work going on in the truck. :bawling: I have sunday off so ill be swapping the axles then and getting things cleaned up. Then i have tuesday and wednesday off to get the motor and everything in. :yahoo: Ive been thinking about an exhaust, i think im gonna come straight down from the manifolds into an x pipe with flowmaster 10 mufflers. Yeah? Nah? opinions? :dunno:

Got the dash wired up and in for the most part. Just a little more work on securing it. Did alot of wiring. All those wires i didnt need went to the power doors on the explorer so i got to pull all those out to seperate from the tail lights. Also got the center console in! And im working on recovering the wire looming. Just have the two big harness left. ALOT of electrical tape!:yahoo:

I havnt been on here in a while. But for an update, i got everything in and hooked up. I repinned my cannon plug at the driverside fire wall to run my tail lights and both fuel pumps as it was on the ranger. Now i can use both pumps instead of one! :D Everything has come together nice so far, but now im stuck. My fuel pumps kick on when cycling the key but im not getting any fuel pressure. Something new to rack my brain on for the next couple days (it took me almost a week just figure out the damned wiring for the fuel pump) then i spent about 3 hours today figure out the neutral saftey switch, but all that behind me now i need to find this problem or ill go insane!!

Oh and i bent a snap on ratchet! I was pretty dang proud of myself! :icon_hornsup:

Clogged filter or line? Or could the fuel pump wiring be backwards causing the problem? Is it pumping air into the tank? :icon_twisted:

I get fuel out at the disconnects at the motor but i think its restricted by clogged fuel filters a little bit and maybe just a weak pump, im gonna try the rear tank tomorrow

One thing that might interest you: I had no fuel pressure at the rail test point when I first hooked everything up. Turned out it was so dirty behind the fitting that it was clogged. Removed the fitting, cleaned it out, and got a good reading.

Which fitting?

On mine the test point in the fuel rail is threaded in. I pulled it and cleaned the back side.

Heh, I piece-mealed mine too. By the time all was said and done (which it isn't yet) I ended up with 3 engine harnesses, two computers, 3 extra days of wire work, and the truck has been driving for 5 months and I'm still trying to collect pieces I need to finish this swap.
adsm I'll get you a case of beer if you come do my wiring in my swap. I'm near Williams Grove speedway.
