Hi guys my name is Andy and I"m new to this sight. I picked up this 86 ranger for 250 bucks from my friend with the intentions of making a lowrider out of it. but here is the problem, he wrecked it which is why he sold it so cheap.

okay so here is my question, does the whole front clip from the doors forward come off? I need pretty much everything from the doors forward bodywise. any help appreciated

Everything does come off, but you might need a new radiator core support by the damage to the front. Might want to check for some frame damage and see if the engine was damaged too.

thanks, from the looks of things the engine looks fine, its just the fan and radiator got pushed in so far they are in the belts. the frame looks fine except for the crossmember, which I should be able to replace since it just bolts on right?

i'd take it to a frame shop and make sure the frame is still properly aligned just to be safe. might save on tire, steering, and other components in the future.

I probably will but from the looks of things, the guy who wrecked it completely missed the front bumper and the frame. and who knows if it is tweaked I will just have a custom one made with notches and all:icon_welder: ...well maybe down the road haha :D

looks like the frame may be o.k. but from the frame up needs replaced. as far as the motor be safe and replace the water pump forward. several of the electrical parts may be good, like horn, starter solinoid, etc. you have a nice project to do. perfect time to do a complete paint job.

front end repair..

the core support should be welded to the inner fenders with a series of spot welds inturn those are spot welded to the firewall flanges, either you'll need to drill out the welds and weld in the new panels or reshape what you can hammer and dolly style the replace only the neccasry peices :icon_welder:
