Thanks a lot for your help on this, I had it running for the first time Friday night. I didn't have much draw on the system (just the piddly point ignition) but the ammeter was tad over the right.

Never did hook the white wire to anything.

It is in the barn for the winter now, we will see how it likes it when I hook the lights up next spring.

so you ended up leaving the white wire unattached and it working out? i’ve got 87 ranger and the pig has the 2 thick black wires with the new alternator having the 2 black and 1 one white

I have read in recent years that wire puts out lower voltage for electric choke. It took me a bit to remember what that thread was about. After I put the Explorer belt system on my Ramger I upcycled the alternator to a old tractor. It worked great until two faulty voltmeters conspired to make me replace it.

Good to see progress! We got the our 41 C project fired up last week. Put new rubber on the back and started prepping for paint last night. Bought the thing this spring and it came in boxes.lol. 75% of it came home in the backseat of the crew cab.lol Sent from XT1030 using Crapatalk
