I just looked... they will take old fuel... but it has to be left in a container. I hate to give up a fuel jug... they're not cheap these days.

I know what you mean by the container’s being expensive! 5 gallon can is as much as the gas to fill it! 50 bucks easy in a 5 gallon container with 5 gallon’s of gas!

Does it have to be in a specific container? use the old gas tank you’re replacing, tape up the filler neck with plastic & electrical tape.

they banned regular gas jugs in CA. They now all have weird tops that spill gas. You can still get regular gas jugs, but they are sold for fluid transfer and technically illegal to use for fuel. Most people ignore this, knowingly or otherwise.

The amazon has some nice slim containers nowadays with cool mount brackets and whatnot...I forget the name, but seen em around on the tricked out jeep pavement queens alot.

Well I have a full 5 gallon jug... and most likely a gallon in the tank still. The jug I used was my worst one with no vent cap and the filler hose leaks... I'm not using Gatorade bottles... so I guess I lose this jug.

Yes that's them. I might try em out. I got rid of my leaky jugs when gas prices went up. It's liquid gold now every drop counts. I like the 2.7 gal Risk jug. Perfect size and shape, and two handles. And it doesn't leak!

They got plenty of gas for that ... and vodka. I think it's glass bottles, rags, and lighters they're short on.

Lol yes it's a little stupid like that...laws don't have to make sense, especially in Kalifornia.

Autozone will take used oil up to 5 gallons at a time.

I would mix the old gas and oil and use it for bonfires/burn barrel, that’s what I often do. I also have a shed that gets coated in used oil every now and again. Bugs don’t like chewing on oil soaked boards.

I considered this... but I really don't want it sitting around that long. Nor do I want to put it in my daily.

You think about sealing the new tank? Redkote is pretty highly regarded from what I can tell.

You have first hand knowledge with this stuff? All I can seem to find is using it to seal up a leak and existing rust. Nothing about a new tank.
