86' BII 2.9 intake manifold swap to 89' 2.9?

I just pulled the upper and lower intake manifold off my 86' Bronco 2.9 last night and i'm wondering if it is identical to the upper & lower intake manifold on a 89' Ranger 2.9? I'd like to port match the 86' setup and swap it onto my 89' Ranger, but i noticed the bolts that mate the upper and lower are smaller on the 86' than on the 89' setup. Is the 86' compatible to bolt on to the 89' or should i just pull out the 89' setup and port match it?

can't say that their deffinatly the same...but should be. unless the newer "redesigned" head offered a slight change? IDK

maybe the best bet is to set them side by side and do some checking.

the only thing that comes to mind, is if the heads were remilled flat and that the newer lower intake wouldn't sit in the valley correctly...but that should be correctable too.

Any ideas as to how much improvement the port matching and a throttle body spacer will do to engine? I've got a pair of World heads and Pacesetter headers on order as well, i'm really interested to see how the whole package will respond on the engine. Has anyone done similar mods and have dyno numbers or MPG at all?
