im boutta have this thing running like brand new. might rebuild it if i have to, seems like a good block to learn on.

is there anyone running this holley carb? seems like its within the cfm range for the v6. I know theres more specs that needs to be met but i was just curious if it would work.

pulled off the chinese carb, having all sorts of issues with it, i think it was machined like trashed, throttle plates are binding and scoring the barrels.
im having troubles finding a non feedback 2150. i dont mind running a holley 2300 or weber, or a better quality reman 2100, if anyone can help me figure out what carb to go with. dont care about mpg i just want this truck to drive good on the street.
how do i go about converting my nut and bolt throttle linkage to those pivot balls? is the adapters im seeing online the correct fit??

i also redid the timing, got it to 12 btdc on cyl 1 compression. if its clearly misfiring like bad timing possibly my factory marks arent matching up.

going to shop for a new carb before messing around some more.

also fixed driver side door handle, works from inside and out now.

I don't think it would really matter compression vs exhaust. The rocker arm shaft will be removed to replace the valve seals so the valves won't be trying to open. You will have compression at the spark plug hole no matter what.

Update, ordering gaskets for engine, and rear differential gaskets, took a gander at the axle code and my god , 3.08 gearing had to clean up the tag abit more after the photo.

Heres how its sitting, waiting on fuel parts to come in then imma order the EFI kit. While i wait these few days ill replace the gaskets, including valve stem seals. Wish me luck.

Out with the old faceplate in with the new. Just sanded the plastic rivets enough to pop the plate out and swapped them. Snapped back in, ill glue it when i put interior back together.

When i get around to doing my valve stem seals, is there anything else i should do while i have covers off? Spring , pushrod, or rocker upgrades? Or just leave it all alone and do the seals?

Did the rear pinion seal, bolts from the shaft to the yolk was very loose already , used loctite after putting it together

Originally someone used gasket maker, cleaned up and replaced diff cover gasket, added new fluid 80w90. Open differential.
Whats the rotational ft lb for the pinion bolt? I marked it , but not well enough.

working on oil pan gasket, fresh oil, and servicing cooling system. Valve stem seals and valve cover gasket is next on my to-do list.

is there anywhere else i should check for leaks? seems like i got almost everything, power steering fluid is good, any other places it could leak from? Front seal should be OK its just the lower portion on the oil pan that leaks.

Update, oil pan gasket job is NOT as easy as i thought, almost done though.

Oil pan job is done, doing the rocker covers and stem seals over the weekend. Using the rope method. As far as valve lash, what am i aiming for? Seeing mixed answers. Almost ready to daily again
