Hi guys, I have an 85 STX 2.8L ranger, the truck came with a 2in factory lift although I don't believe it has the "highrider" suspension. The suspension is at the end of its life and I wanted to add 2 inch coil spacers and an add-a-leaf in the back to fit the new shocks I purchased. The only problem is i'm afraid of the positive camber the spacers will cause. The front end is a dana 28 and because the truck will be lifted 2 inches on top of the factory lift, i want to know if a simple alignment will solve all my problems.

the truck has slight positive camber now (let me emphasize slight), I don't have any experience with alignments and I don't know if the camber can be adjusted enough to compensate for 2 inch spacers?

any input would be great- thanks

The factory 2" lift is the Highrider option (easiest way to tell is by presence of RIVETED-in spacers that lower down the radius arm crossmember).

Doing a coil spacer lift on a Highrider truck shouldn't be different than on a non-Highrider, but there is always the possibility the spacers will cause the suspension to exceed the adjustment range of the alignment bushings.
Instead you may be able to use stacked washers as spacers, in which case you can fine-tune the height to a point where you can align it.

Hope that helps.

An '85 would NOT have the factory lift. '87-'89 are the only years to have the potential of being equipped with it.
