Look up paint society on youtube as well. They do some decent videos and reviews of various guns.

I have found them, pretty good channel. I have the old purple HF gun... not as nice as his $800 one, he didn't give it very high marks.

I am thinking KISS and just go single stage. It will be easy for my amateur paint guy, will look more correct and will match what I don't paint better (under hood and cab interior)

Remember that a good paint job is more about the preparation than anything else. I did dads 46 2N with a purple harbour freight gun, still have it. Tractor still looks good, in spite of rarely seeing time under a roof.

Actually more like this:

I thought about puff canning the bed to get it to kinda match and just throwing it on the truck to keep it out of harms way. Still on the fence on it but I am thinking it would just make more work in the end.

I believe that would just be a headache to deal with later.....

As long as the bed doesn't get knocked over or something before I get it on the truck...

What about hanging it from the rafters??

If things ever settle down we are going to try to rent our barn out as a venue... so it can't stay in the barn.

mount it to a wall, like ralphies restaurants did with racecar hoods

what no ranger bed chandelier?? LOL

Already have a chandelier...

I thought about stuffing in the hay loft, it would be a big PITA and you could easily see it from the other loft which we have set up for seating though.

Other thought is to take the bed off my pickup trailer and put it on there. Then it would mostly go in and out with my camper easily and couldn't just fall or get blown around.

But the truck I made the trailer out was kind of a rust bomb and removing the bed would basically involve torching 6 bolts. And the bed that is on the trailer is better than the one on my truck (looks rougher but the structure is better) so I still have a bed to fuss over.

Years ago I acquired a old Lincoln stick welder. I finally got the itch to drag it out and play with it, usually whenever I think about it it is either 300* outside or the barn lot is a swamp or for some other reason it is easy to talk myself out of messing with it. It was in a shed at my parents so I had to drag it out of there and I took it to work to clean it up and see if it worked.

Kinda weird, most of them (my dad's included) have a 120 setting at the dead center between my 115 and 130 settings. Not sure if that makes mine older or what. Dad also has the rod use chart as part of this panel whereas mine had it on a decal on the top like the current ones... so I really have no idea if mine is newer or older than dads.

Dad's is like this:

No mouse nest at all, I am very impressed!

The "computer" looks pretty good too.

20.2 pounds of spider webs shop-vacced out.

The two back panels actually can come off separately which makes it come apart much easier.

Hit it with some quick detailer to spiffy it up a little bit

The previous owner extended the cables because he had to weld something on his combine which obviously would not fit in his garage. He laughingly described it as having "the longest cables in the county" Probably not wrong, at least 50'... they are a beast when they get tangled up.

And it works!

Not pretty but since nobody can remember how old the rods are (very rarely use the stick welder at work anymore), I haven't welded since George W Bush's first term and I only got a half hour of practice in... I WILL TAKE IT!!! Getting my speed and feed are weak spots, I am doing better but I kinda got chased out for stinking the place up.

Just gotta change the end yet, at work we use the angled plug like what it has on it, my garage as the giant normal looking plug for 220.

So anyway, more neat old stuff. I need to get a helmet and get it to warm up out so I can play with it more.

And since I still need to get the stupid exhaust rerouted on the Ranger so I can leave the front driveshaft in it full time... the F-150 got to play drift buster yesterday.
