'85 Ranger Restomod

I got my flywheel from AutoZone for about that price and it can fit a 10 inch (what I'm running) or an 11 inch clutch.

I got my clutch setup throw out and input shaft bearing set off eBay for $74.

As for the subject on the m5od-2, people that do get it to quell don't go into enough detail on what they used to get it to work in their ranger. Twister it's doing the same thing trans wise.

I do know that the ranger master plugs into a zf5 and works and that the m5od1 and 2 share the same slave from what I've read.

For the clutch end of a 97-08 M5OD 4.2 5 speed swap onto a 50oz 5.0, '95 F-150 clutch stuff work ok?

I have NOTHING for a manual, flywheel, ppa... nothing. Every SBF I have accumulated has been set up for an automatic. Rockauto doesn't seem too bad on new Luk stuff.

HD PPA, disc, bearings for $148, flywheel for $67.

Damn, I couldn't find an np208 to save my life. All of them were missing the slip yokes or people wanted $200+ for them. When researching for the v6 trans, everyone on here said to buy a clutch set and a flywheel for a 95-96 f150 so that's what is bolted up to my junk, I also am going to be using a starter from a 93 manual bronco. I for my stuff at advance auto because i had a 20% off coupon.

I must have crossed some wires, I went back to see if they said how big of clutch the flywheel would take and while it doesn't say the flywheel is actually $55 for a Luk flywheel. That is about $7 cheaper than whatever brand Carquest puts their sticker on with my work discount.

This is the clutch kit, it is only $50 more than the standard LUK clutch kit. Without a creeper first I figure I will be a little harder on it.

I gotta make up for the transmission that fell in your lap. :D

A starter is common enough to go bad I will probably get it local from a chain with my discount. I don't figure on getting the clutch warrentied from the side of the road. :icon_thumby:

It was miserable cold this last weekend so I gave the Ranger a tune up.

I rerodded the carb to take advantage of the much colder weather... kinda scary to drive now. :icon_surprised:

What size rods did you go from and to?

That was just a story, it was 10*, my fingers were numb after setting the gopro on a tripod in the back window... it was miserable sitting in the cold cab in a t-shirt with the rear window open for a few minutes too.

Pretty much a goof off and make silly picture weekend. :icon_thumby:

Safe to say you were bored.

Other then that how is the truck running? Anymore updates on the trans swap?

I do have fun messing with pictures. :D

It has been behaving pretty good, I have an oil leak somewhere, can't tell if it is the rear PS valve cover or the rear of the intake.

I drove it to work awhile ago and got caught caught in an ice storm. MT's suck on ice if you haven't heard, snuck it home on gravel where it wasn't freezing and pretty much parked it until the weather straightens out. The roads have been pretty much white with salt since... I would kinda like to keep it out of that as much as I can.

Trans swap is pretty much on hold for the same reasons, too cold to mess with. I have a tractor in the garage with the back end apart which isn't helping anything either.

you shouldn't red line the engine that way, also one of your dilithium crystal chambers is our of alinement, see the slight wavy star lines, they are hard to see, but you should have heard a slight humming sound also.

get that lined up, and is shouldn't be scary to drive.

posted using a match stick and a can of 7-Up.

Tell me about MTs on snow and ice, found that out right after I put mine on.

I will have to check the dilithium crystal chambers, couldn't hear anything over the wind noise from the 30 year old door seals. :icon_thumby:

It looked cool though.:icon_thumby:
