i have an 85 2wd short bed...the problem that i have is that my brake pedal travels all of the way to the floor before the brakes catch. i have replaced the rear wheel cylinders, front calipers, soft brake lines, master cylinder, brake booster, front pads and rear shoes.the problems still exists. any help would be appreciated as this is my daily driver.:icon_confused:

Did you adjust the rear brakes after you changed the linings?

I'm inclined to think that you still have air trapped in the system.

Did you replace the rotor or have it machined when you did the pads? If machined it could be possible that they are too thin.

does the brake pedal come back all the way to the top? Sounds like the wrong master, or brake rod length.

yep...it comes all of the way back up.....i thought it was the master too....replaced it 2 days ago...exact same thing happens as before

ok, next question, did you compare wheel cylinder diameters between the old and new ones? Some applications have different sizes, and a larger bore would change the amount of fluid needed to achieve the same braking effort.

do they ever pump up? or just go to floor every time?

was the master properly bench bled?
