All the ones available as far as I know, with a picture and the cheapest place I could quickly find them on the net:

What do you run/how do you like it? I'm in the market for a cover when I get my tax return in about a week or so. I am really leaning toward a riddler or a ruff stuff cover, but I cant seem to find a picture of an 8.8 that shows the fill plug on the riddler cover. If it doesn't have one that might be a dealbreaker. Please leave your feedback on your cover and if there are other covers I left out please post them. if this kind of thread already exists: i'm apologize I searched and i'm a bad forum browser.

I have two covers (f/r) from Shawn at GLO. I wouldn't buy from anyone else....Read his fine-print no b.s. warranty.

That said, Get a hold of Tim (MetalMacguyver) and see what he's got in the works. Might as well support a fellow member, right? :icon_thumby:

Metalmacguyver added. No one but johnny u has a hd cover :icon_confused:? post what you run/some reviews.

There is also the Aluminum 8.8 cover of of 2002 and later exploders with the . It is very thick. I have not personally held one in my hands but TireIron was telling me about them. They are another option to consider.

As far as my covers go, I dont plan on making any more. They are extremely labor intensive and I can not justify the price that I would actually have to charge to make it worth it.

Once the ones that I have are gone, that will be that.

I have a cover made out of 1/4" plate. TRS was selling them some years ago. Joel H's buddy was welding them but I don't know if he's still doing it under the Villan Motorsports name or not.

Your talking about the 8.8 ifs covers right? I have seen those and they look killer when you mill the tabs off them. Id aim for one of those if I was building a street truck and if the price was right. I'd imagine these are $$$ at a dealership, and I have no idea what a wrecking yard would charge for one. Also the local pull a parts don't usually have anything that new.

86 ford has an iRs 8.8 cover i think....
Fixed it for ya.

Correct.

I have the t-bird IRS diff cover. I have not removed the "ears" and regularly slam into things with that cover. It is one THICK piece of aluminum, you should be able to score one at a local pull-a-part for dirt cheap. If appearance matters you dont want the IRS cover.

That was exclusive to TRS as it was what Jim was asking for.

I made a bunch of these ones and sold them under the VMS name but have since stopped as it was a pain to juggle everyones schedule, to get one cover made.

The Explorer covers don't look too bad though. I am watching for one to pop up.

I wonder what the cover is like on the 8.8 in the front of my F-150... gonna have to check now when it quits raining. There are a whole bunch more 97-current F-150's out there than 02+ Explorers.

I chose the Riddler cover for mine, I like the smooth design with recessed bolt heads, not to mention their test video was impressive.

My Ruff Stuff cover just came in for my D44. 3/8" thick everywhere, machined flat mating surface, and 100 bucks shipped to my door. I don't think I've gotta worry about beating this thing up.

I'd stay away from aluminum or cast covers if you plan to play in rocks much. I can't say much though, I've got a Rockcrusher on my 8.8.
