There is a local speed shop that I've dealt with in the past and believe him to be a decent guy and who knows (especially fords) what he is doing.
I walked in to inquire about putting a lock right in my 7.5. Mind you the man has a stock full of ring sets and lockers just sitting on shelves.., In the waiting area.. along with V8s and super chargers.. talk about a kid in a candy store..
Anyways, he said is that an 8.8? I said no, looking at the door jam it's a 7.5/3.55. He says "Oh.. they don't have lock rights for 7.5s.. just 8.8s and up. He said he could find me a 8.8 out of a yard and rebuild it with the lock right and any gearing I want.. new bearings.. yadda yadda yadda for 800 installed.
NOT exactly what I was shooting for just for some aide in traction!

I don't think he was just tryin to milk money out of me.. maybe he just wasn't aware. But he is a big Mustang guy (just a muscle car guy in general) and I know they used both these rears.
Does anyone know if the lock right is still available for a 7.5 so I can drop one on his desk when I schedule my appointment?!?
A side note: Sometime ago he got a invited to Pinks with 2 weeks to build a 10 sec car. He did this out of an LX sitting in 2 foot grass for years. He walked away with a Firebird. Then sold it back to the dude. There were lots of write ups in the local paper about it.. plus I saw the episode
