on this little truck and I think I love it.

I got my 97 4.0/ automatic Supercab 4x4 from my Dad over 10 years ago. He bought it brand new, and when I got it from him it had 106,000 on it. I have put about 65k more on it in those 10 years.

Out of the three vehicles that I have right now, 2009 Dodge Charger, bought brand new for the wife (base trim, no extras except remote start) a 2004 Nissan Maxima SE (with all of the extras...Bose premium stereo with 6 CD changer and cassette, sunroof, all leather seats (heated) leather wrapped steering wheel (also heated) and 18" wheels and 265 hp and will corner like it is on rails, got it with exactly 100k 3 years ago, Then the aforementioned 97 Ranger XLT Supercab. has power windows and locks, cruise and a leather wrapped steering wheel (not heated) with a cloth 60/ 40 seat. I actually enjoy driving the Ranger more than the Maxima. My 4 1/2 year old son likes the Ranger better too.

the bonus part of this is that the wife hates the Ranger and the Maxima... The Ranger drives like a truck and she found out that trucks don't stop as quickly and nimbly as the Charger when you get into an "oh fawk" situation (I have a post on that incident a few months back) So if I want gas mileage and awesome sound quality for the trip, I take the Maxima. for just driving around, I do like the Ranger, although in the winter I would really like to have that heated leather steering wheel in the Ranger...

Glad you like it.

And, yep, I think they are great. Had or have a 91, 93, 97, 02 and 08 some 4X4, some 2X4, all engine sizes and both transmission types. They are/were good trucks for their size.

I won't lie I was a dodge guy and to an extent I still am mainly just the cummins. But when it comes to small trucks I've owned 2 nissans and a Toyota 4runner 90 model. Now although the 4runner got better mileage I have come to love rangers. They are awesome trucks. Now if I could just get a cummins in the ranger I'd be in heaven.

Have to agree, these trucks are great. Ive had 3 Rangers and loved all of them.
Had a 86 2dr 2wd 4cly with 33" all stock = blown motor
Had a 90 2dr 2wd 2.9. great little truck, kept it all stock =traded for cbr600rr
Currently have a 99 Xlt 2dr 4x4 3.0 and Love this thing! Although i wish it was a 4.0 4dr, id buy it over again without thinking twice.

For sure!!! I think rangers should have come with 5.0s as atleast an option though I love my little 2.5 I do need another drivers seat cause mine has a pretty serious ass grove in it I have looked at buying another truck recently and just can't find anything that fits quite like a ranger!!
