Here is a good remedy for high gas prices, oh, and high belly fat levels too.

I'll probably keep doing what I do now, and that's burn E30 in the Bronco 2. There's a blender pump down the road with it priced about 40 cents less than E10. I haven't noticed one difference in the way it runs, and it gets the same mileage as it does on E10. Hasn't dropped a bit. E50 will drop the mileage a little and reduce WOT power a little, so I don't run that, even though it would be a bit more economical. I might consider it, and a light foot, if gas goes to $5 though.

I might also invest in some stock size touring tires though if gas goes up much higher.

I had thought it might be a neat project to find and old Ford Pinto and do a high compression 4 cylinder E85 build for cheap highway travel and summer daily driving. Maybe $5 gas would move that idea into reality.

It will force me to keep my job because they give me a truck...

here in LA, its at $4.20 for 87.

i agree with BlackBII. i'm planning on cycling to work at least once per week. its 14 miles but hell, it's good exercise. besides, its getting warmer.

OPEC has us by the nuts

i'm thinking what i'll do is keep driving my stretched f 350 around,at least till i get the big-block ranger or the V 12 gt on the road.the boat's pretty thirsty, too.i imagine the hot-rod boat will like it's gas once it's done as well.

a guy's gotta have his toys.just eat less, then there's more money for gas.

Gonna get the 88' back to stock everything, minus the bedliner, tire rack, rims, and 1 window. And I am gonna enjoy the 18mpg versus the 12mpg F150.

Now, I bought a newer car, knowing full well that I'd have a car payment for the next few years.. I was, however, spending around $300/month on my truck, making sure it was running. It ended up turning into a never ending money pit because it was never 100% fixed. So my having a car payment on a newer car made sense. I was spending it anyway with the old truck, may as well have a new car and some nice features to go along with it.

Money pits are a whole other issue. You made a smart move. But if your truck/car runs well and is paid off it's hard to make sense out of replacing it with something more efficient to "save money on gas".

maybe most guys stateside will be happy to pay 6 dollars a gallon for free dental?
:dunno:

Wait, where are we getting free dental?

As for my response to $5 gas. Imma shoot somebody in a turban. Then I'm gonna get the gov't to go take some oil from Iraq.
