Well, I'll just keep burning E85 probably.....

With a price difference like that, why shouldn't I? Its 26% cheaper and its about 18% less efficient in my truck (been tracking it for over two years of use now). Huzzah for living in the cornbelt with multiple ethanol plants within 100 miles I guess. Apparently the difference between E85 and gas isnt as big in other areas...:dunno:

I haven't filled my tank since about 2 weeks ago. It was $45 to do so from 1/8th. I'm down to 1/4 right now. I work close to home so I'm fairly lucky.

so what are you going to do with 5 dollar a gallon gas and a probable qe3-4.

i am not ready for that....just wondering.

I will drive my Rogue more, now. I got over 560 miles to a tank of gas. I gas up every 6 weeks...so I will keep plugging along......grocery prices have already gone up and it seems that everything that is transported by vehicles has gone up again...just like the last time this happened and caused a recession here in America....so it is starting again. If Americans don't stand up and fight now this will only get worse..........We need to take back the Alaskan oil pipeline and stop sending the oil overseas...the Alaskans need to have their oil bonuses taken away....we all paid for the Alaskan pipe line with our taxes...time to take it back from the oil mongers!!!!

I'm jealous... My tank seems to empty fast... And I drive probly 200+ miles a tank.. Now that's horrible.

Gonna Keep running the '98 Neon. Only drive about 3 miles to work so that tank lasts a couple weeks. Haven't filled the ranger in awhile but I'm sure its gonna run me about $65 or so

$4.90 for Prem,$60 a week drive to work and drop the kid at school.
Will be riding the XL250 after he gets out for the summer.

Keep on driving... still gotta keep the farm going no matter what.

I guess I'm lucky here. yes, gas is expensive at 1.19 per liter, but if I fill up, a tank lasts me four weeks (w/o going out on weekends). I don't live all that far from work. :icon_twisted:

i'm going to invent some stupid engine product and claim that it will boost your gas mileage 200% while adding 3000 hp. then i'll have so much money that gas prices wont matter.

cost me $79 last fill up @ 3.50 a gallon

threw the littler tires back on getting 20mpg most of the time going to start grannying it around and hopefully i can get me a bike soon

I used to put on 400 miles a week going to work. If I work at all now, it's from home and the place I do work for is only 3 miles away and only go there every two weeks. I know it's really going to hurt some people's bugets and travel plans. Even the media acts surprised that it might hit $5/gal. Three months ago the retired CEO or president of one of the major oil companies prodicted it by 2012.

I know this doesn't help anybody, but I traded my Ranger for a Focus in December because I assumed this would happen and I was offered more for the Ranger than was being asked for the Focus.

I do miss my Ranger. It was the best vehicle I've ever owned. But the Focus isn't terrible and I can't really complain about $5/gallon gas if I'm going twice as far on a gallon.

If I had to guess a lot of people might start snatching up old Ford Escorts or Dodge Neons to save a little at the pump. Or, they may ignorantly buy a new car that gets better mpg without realizing they are still spending more than they would be if they kept their old car (due to car payment).

Seems like people complain about it a little then move on with their life.

I'll drive less, accelerate slower, drive under the speed limit and rent movies on netflix to avoid going out. I am not giving up other parts of my lifestyle to pay for gas for any reason. I will still take hunting trips and driving vacation trips. Won't be able to stay sane if I just stay home. I will just have less money to invest and put into savings or tuition programs for my kids....

Now, I bought a newer car, knowing full well that I'd have a car payment for the next few years.. I was, however, spending around $300/month on my truck, making sure it was running. It ended up turning into a never ending money pit because it was never 100% fixed. So my having a car payment on a newer car made sense. I was spending it anyway with the old truck, may as well have a new car and some nice features to go along with it.

talked to my mom back home today, their gas price is $1.38 canadian per liter, that works out to $5.42 us, per us gallon...

here it`s a little cheaper at 1.18 per liter

I am with this schit the crap of prize at home ...
I GONNA probably bought a yota for The Highway.
