wow you ready to have a beast aint ya? lol

If you wanna go with a stick it depends on 4x4 or 2wd. 2wd I really would do a T5. Shifters gonna come back a little further in the cab and might need to fab up the crossmember to work though. I'm in the process of doing mine and haven't got to the mock up yet so I dunno. I'm still rebuilding everything.

Turbo might be pushing it with the header clearance but it is possible. I would say supercharger. I wanna put a procharger on mine but I think for right now I'm just going carb'd to get the truck up and going and I'm not dealing with a supercharger on a carb setup. Been there before, didn't like it lol.

If you want to keep the shifter where it is, there's two choices: One is a Tremec 3550 with a mid shift kit, the other is the 5 speed from the 97-up F150's with the 4.2 V6, this is the M5ODR2. The V8 Version's the same, but the shifter location is farther forward. Any other transmission and you'll have to cut the tunnel roof for a new hole.

Sounds like you might want to beat on the truck a bit, race rig/desert fun I would guess. Even the Tremec 3550 is only rated to 350 ft-lbs of torque. With any kind of power adder, you are sure going to be above that. Tremec has some newer transmissions that are rated at 500 and 600 ft-lbs and have up to eight different shifter locations and gear ratios to suit your needs. Good luck with the project, sure sounds like fun. You get to play in the sand.
