4x4 not working right

1999 4x4 exstend a cab 3.0 manual trans. we got some real rain here in west Texas the last couple of days . took it out to play some. goes into 4 high ok can hear relay try to go to four low can't hear relay and doesn't go in. I have pluged the vacumm to the hubs and went with manual hand hubs. i thinking maybe relay but maybe elec. motor. would be nice to go straight to the problem once. thanks for any help.

We're you completely stopped with the clutch pushed in when you tried 4-lo?

The most common problem on these is the shift motor gets weak, so I would start there.

Try depressing clutch and brake at the same time, it made shifting my truck in and out of 4lo a whole lot easier.
