4x4 electric shift problems

I'm having what appears to be a common issue with the electric shift tranfercase. I push the button & no engagement no lights but I can here a little "tick" in the interior quarter panel drivers side rear seat area. Can anyone tell me where the the "4x4 control module" is located on my 89 B2 and if anyone has tested their comparable year the way the guide instructs? Any help on it's location & diagnostics would be great. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work, this site rules!

Hey, the shift motor probably needs a cleaning.. the write up in the link shows you how to clean it.

also clean off the circuit board thats in the 4x4 selector
