You "might" have issues with the drain plug in the rear of the oilpan sitting on the cast bracket. I did. I went ahead and put a plug in a different place on a second pan, but ended up not using it. As for the bracket, I cut it out since I am SASing this thing.

Ok, quick update guys. Motor mounts Removed out of the ranger. Motor pulled out of the donor truck; well its just resting in there but completly removed from everything. rain came sooner than i expected. dangit.
While removing parts off of the motor i discoved that the holley intake manifold i was going to resuse is trash. someone had drilled new holes to fit the 4barrel carb and uh yeah. needless to say the carb wasnt properly seated, thus prob the reason it ran poor.
SO....... im looking for an intake. anyone have any experience with a Weiand Stealth? claims it helps from idle to like 6800rpm which sounds about what i want...
I'm not usually into 4X4 rangers, but this build caught my attention. Post up some pics of the engine when you pull it apart.
As far as the intake, I bought my edelbrock intake off ebay for cheap. I have a cheap edelbrock carb that I rebuilt and stuck on. It has tons of torque in the bottom of the RPM sweep. A little too much for a 2wd street machine. I can pretty much torch the BFG'S in three gears.
I'm hoping to replace the carb this winter and install a power adder.
