If your truck is a '97 there is a chance your trans is a 5r55e, check your door codes to verifi.

If it is a 5r55e your OD solenoid could be bad.
If it is a 4r55e your bands may need ajusting.
I talked to my friend again today (owns his own shop & been building for over 20 years) and mentioned this issue to him. He told me it's most likely a combination of the valve body AND the EPC. These two things are what he's doing to mine. I drove another friends Explorer tonight that he rebuilt and did the VB update to and was very impressed. I can't wait to get mine done. I can't be pushy though, he's hooking me up on it.![]()
We need the code it threw.
I may be the front pump dropping your line press. or the seperator plate gaskets are blown.
if your problem is in the VB you can do it your self in about 2hours, its under the pan.
if its the pump the trans needs to come out and the pump is on the other side of the bell housing.
Please do NOT go to a junk yard for trans parts, there is a reason why the trucks are there.
