4bt swap -- 95 Explorer

yeah the trooper that got me didnt even care about the weight told him it was diesel and he said oh really, i didnt see any badges. (had turned the truck off before he walked up) told him theres a sticker on the fuel door and he said ok no problem... still got a written warning for no front plate though (hate jersey and their front plate BS!) takes away from the look

Same here in Texas with the front plate bs. Some people just put the plate on the dash. Legally we can do that since the law only states that the plate be visible from the front. Some of the cops will be dicks and try to say that it has to be mounted on the bumper.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

Yeah, a little bit of an update.

I have a US Gear overdrive unit (20% overdrive) on its way. UPS tracking says it should be in tomorrow. These went for a few thousand $$, when they still made them. I found a new one for $700.

I dont think there will be any more snow (we only got about 4"s total this year), I have a car to drive for the next 2-3 months (thanks to my mother in law who lives in Florida, but leaves a car here). I guess I should start on the actual swap now!!?!

thats sweet u dont see many bt4s in a explorer. im putting a om 617 benz in my ranger

I know where you'll be ever spare minute for the next week or more. :D

Thanks for reminding me to update this.

I got my overdrive unit.

I bought a new fuel tank for a BII, its going behind the axle and Im ditching the stock tank. I got 2 rolls of stainless steel tubing (3/8" and 1/4") for supply and return lines. I got a new fuel filler that I should be able to mod to fit the new tank location.
