ok i already have a 3 bl. and i'm lookn at the 4 in rough country lift. my question is will 35's fit with no rubbing or should i stick with 33's?:dunno:
and what gears should i run 4:10's or 4:56's?
or should i say f*** it and do a sas?:headbang:

All your questions depend on how much fab work you want to do and how much you want to spend...

I have a 4" RC lift and 2" spacers and can fit 33's... 35's may be tough... Id say try the RC lift with washers or spacers, or an actual 6" lift to get you that extra 2" and 35's should fit fine.

If you don't mind fab work, swap in an EB D44.... Either way, you're going to want to swap out your rear for an 8.8 atleast, if not for strength, for the gear selection as 4.56's still won't cut it.

bare min 4.88's for 35s on 4cyl.

yeah i have the explorer 8.8 in it now.. gonna run 4.56's. i am looking at the rc lift and washer lift but can i still get it aligned cause it is gonna be street driven a lot?:icon_confused:

For a 4cyl and 35's I'd go with 5.13's... 4.56:1 is going to suck! I wouldn't even use 4.56's for 33's... I'll be swapping to 4.56:1 in my Explorer with the 4.0L and 32" tires... That 2.3L is going to HATE 35" tires and 4.56:1 ratios...

im thinkn of 33's and 4.56's because my buddy has a 2.3t motor he's givin me

You mean 33's and 4.88's... I'd stick with the 2.3 NA and make the 2.3T a street truck...

if i go 4.88's it be like 5000 rpm on the highway in fifth right?

No, lol... Even on stock tires it wouldn't be... Not that 5000rpm would hurt it anyway, you are way too afraid to let your motor run like it needs... I hardly ever use O/D in my 2.5 Ranger, it ran down the interstate everyday at 70mph at ~3000rpm for 170k miles with no problem...

ok 4.88's it is.. now you think i can get it aligned with 2'' washer lift and rc lift ?

Maybe... 2" is the limit you can go and still have the possibility of aligning it properly... I'd keep the height as low as possible and trim...

2" plus an RC lift... should be able to align it no problem... Mine was close to 3 degrees off right after the lift with the balljoints where they were when I was at stock height. As long as you keep it less then 4 degrees of camber you should be fine to align. worst case you may need the super adjustable bushing to take care of caster too...

allright thanks guys..i'll keep my progress posted waitn on my lift now:headbang:

You should go with longer brake lines... I bent the bracket that holds the hard line down just a little and at full droop its close.
