who hear runs 33's with 4.10's with the 4.0L. either in the fall or spring ill be buying a 4" lift and want to run 33x10.5's. she's my daily driver. right now i get around 17-20mpg with 32's and 3.73's. just wondering how it performs driving around town and such. i don't really need the gear for offroad seeing as she's mainly gonna be a road queen

I have 4.10s & 33s on my Ranger. Agreed, it should be fine. I do often wish I had gone with 4.56 though, even driving around town, but it's not terrible by any means.

If you're shelling out for a regear, I'd definitely suggest 4.56.

4.10's with 33's is just fine. A little under geared for towing and off roading but very drivable on the street.

thats what i figured. like i said before i don't really plan on off roading much and i don't really need to tow anything. i just wanted to hear from someone who has it how it drives around town.

Also. 4.10s are easier to come by so I could frobably get some second hand. Plus the gear calculator says something like 3.86 to switch from a 32 to 33. So 4.10s should give me more than I have now

You'll like it with that gear/tire combo. I DD my truck and I have had zero problems. One thing I have noticed is that 5th gear is occasionally unusable but not too often. Other than that its not too much different from driving on 32's. My truck rides a lot better on the 33's than it ever did on 32's.

i'm plannin on a 33x10.5 so thats even less weight than what you have. i never use 5th gear unless i'm on the highway anyway so i'm not worried. ps nice truck

That's been my experience as well. It'll maintain 5th at 65 MPH without laboring at all on a flat highway, but a slight uphill grade will make it labor more, forcing me to downshift in order to save fuel. If I had 4.56s, it'd be a lot easier on it.

True, my truck has no problem burning 33" meats though:D And Thanks! It's come a LONG ways from the grandpa cruiser it once was.

Same here but I probably have a little less weight so my truck does fine if I leave it in fifth at highway speeds.

i cruise around right now on the highway at about 2400 going about 70 and like 2300 at 65 so it has plenty of power to make it up the hills. as long as it doesnt drop below 2k or isnt really pushing i dont usually down shift

I think I'm usually turning about 2500-2600 at 70 in 5th. When there's a good headwind I'll drop er down to 4th and run the speed limit.

i have 33x13.5x15 toyo mts and i have my stock 3.73 gears. going down the freeway about 70 im at about 2150rpm. are you looking for better gas milage or quicker response time?
