4.0 Valvetrain noise

I wasn't aware they were torque to yield ,I know the head bolts are I reused mine "Shaft bolt's" with no probs?:dunno:

I had to wait till I got home to check my book. It shows 24 ft-lbs plus 90 degrees. I've reused them in a pinch with no trouble but I have time on this project so I would prefer to do it right.

Thanks for the link Daniel.

Not true.

There is a 20 ohm resistor that needs to be jumpered on the back of the gauge cluster and change the oil pressure sender to a gauge type sender and you will have a functioning oil pressure gauge.

Good to know! Never heard of that being done before.

Thanks

Good information to know. It is crazy that they would do that, one of my favorite trucks that I have ever owned was a 66 F 100 Custom Cab, 352 engine, had a real guage and and idiot light from the factory.
The cab mounts disintegrated, I wish now that I'd kept it and found someone to fab up new ones.

Out of curiosity what weight oil are you using?

In the trashed 3.0 I use Super Tech 5W-30 High Milage. I go through about 1.5 quarts per tank of gas so I just use the cheap stuff.

The 4.0 will get whatever weight the manufacturer recomends. I don't know what is in it now. It was my Dad's truck and he kept up with oil changes. I had it less than a month when I got rear ended.
