In short. Trans blew up,converted to 5sp. Engine was leaky everywhere and tick6. Tore the top n bottom end apart. Got the gaskets, new oil pump/screen. Was just going to replace rocker arm/pushrod on the top but four or five lifter caps(little platic cup) were broke and dangling around the pushrod. Went ahead and bought all new lifters.:( 466$ No way I was replacing just the ones with broken caps. How do I bleed them though? I've searched all over the forum.

You didn't use Rock Auto, did you? Last I checked they were about 25 bucks a piece through them.

soak them in motor oil before you install them

Nah, rock auto was crazy expensive ,like summit and everywhere else. Auto zone had mellings for 37 a pop. Better than my employee discount at fisher.

Oh thanks man. Can't believe its that simple

The plastic cups are an assembly aid so the workers in the factory don't "miss"
the lifter when inserting the pushrods.

after the engine is assembled they do nothing.

The pushrod & rockers are the real issue.
