Hello,
Every once in a while I learn something I would never have seen coming.

I hoped to use a new set of lifters in my OHV 4.0L build, if nothing else to establish good base performance. I have held off on purchasing all the Chinese lifters that have flooded eBay and other purchase markets in hopes that a decent deal on authentic new in box (NIB) lifters may pop up.

Back in May it did. Two sellers on the eBay advertised genuine Ford OHV 4.0L lifters; one seller only had 3 lifters, the other seller only had 18 sets (boxes) of 6 remaining. I contacted him and asked about their authenticity, to which I was assured that they are genuine factory parts in original factory boxes.

I finally ordered them and I need to share and confirm the surprising facts regarding these lifters. Box of six (6):

Manufacturer: Ford
FORD product type: Valve Lifters
FORD PART NUMBERF: F0TZ-6500-A-6
UPC: APB91038285

The box is marked clearly,
FORD MOTOR COMPANY
DEARBORN Mi 48121
PRINTED IN USA

...this is where it gets shocking. 25-26 year old sticker on box reads "CONTENTS MADE IN GERMANY"??? What the helium!! I know that these are German designed engines but come on, for reals???

I am uncertain how interesting or if anyone else even cares but this shocked me. It appears that these were packaged in 1996, as the sealed interior preservation material was stamped when sealed.

Germany has good forges. They also have a history we would not care seeing repeated with them
