4.0 Conversion HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!!!

On the intake IDK but I think I've seen people wanting to replace the plastic ones with the aluminum so they could port and polish or something. Should be pretty much the same for stock use.

As for the wiring. Just be careful to hook up the clutch and neutral switch to the correct pin on the computer. By the time you take off the un-needed stuff you may find you don't have much left. I did.

I've heard the auto computer will cause the engine to run weird when it expects the transmission to shift. It'll definitely throw codes without the solenoids there.

Also, before somebody asks yes you can use an auto harness with a manual computer. (I had the same question when I started mine. Apparently it's not possible with Mustangs so information getting copied around online led me to believe all were like that. They aren't)

appreciate the info, i wish i could find a truck with the right harness and computer lol

great news i found a 92 explorer today with manual transmission. im gonna be snatching the following:

-complete harness and PCM
-aluminum intake all the way to the air filter box.

couple more questions?

since i dont plan to use The AC can i bypass all the hoses and junk or do they still need to be intact even if not being used?

my donor 4.0 is a 98, i heard the oil pan will need to be changed and possibly the transfercase due to a speed sensor? if this is true then i should probably also take those off this explorer i found right?

IDK anything about the oil pan or transfer case issues but on the AC, all I have left of my system is the button in the dash and the coil inside the airbox. Everything else is gone. Probably been melted down by now.

Just don't release the gas from a still pressurized system. That stuff is bad.

thank you for the info. i think ill just avoid all the ac junk
