Does anyone know how sluggish 33" tires would be with a stock diff? I think right now stock my tires are 27", but with a lift and all and 33" tires, how sluggish will I be? Could it even be too much stress and break something?

What motor do you have, what kind of trans, what are your stock gears? Will you be changing gear ratios? ... yadda yadda yadda

33"

My Ranger is a 88 2.9 auto with factory gearing and 33" Baja Claws. No worries off road, tires work great and haven't run out of horse power yet and haven't broken anything.... well, I DID brake a right front axle AND my T-case when I slid head-long into an erosion ditch that ran across the trail but on the whole I don't abuse it.

On the highway it's a bit lethargic, takes a while to get up to speed and seems to labor a bit.
I wouldn't use pure off road tires for every day driving because everything suffers, fuel mileage, tire ware, strain on the drive line and so on. Since my truck is mostly a toy and I don't drive it long distances (trailer it to far away trails) I have no problem with it.

Mine has 33's (Uniroyal Laredos) on right now,V-6 5 speed 8.8 rear with locker, gets up and hauls ass with no problems. And yeah, try not to run mudders all the time, I have been looking a general purpose tire or at at least an A\T type tire to run during the week.

i ran 33s with 3.45s and with 3.73s. it sucked, sucked even more wheeling. too much momentum to overcome the lack of gearing

That's how mine is right now with 3.73s. I can't touch 5th gear haha. Fixing to upgrade to 4.56s. I'm trying to find a ranger 8.8 to swap in but can't seem to find one anywhere round here :(

where are ya at, im in NJ and will elt one go for 100, has some pretty useless 3.27 or some shit gears though

I'm in Georgia unfortunately. Otherwise I'd take ya up on that. I don't really care if I even find just a housing. Because I plan to replace all the internals, shafts included anyways.
