Will 31x10.5 fit with Explorer springs in the rear and 1.5-2" lift coils in the front?

Thanks.

I'd like to know too.

For 31's to fit I think you need at least 4+ inches of lift on a Gen 1 & 2.

They may fit with just 2 inches, but you are going to need to do a lot of fender trimming, and may need to learn to ignore the rubbing when you flex.

I think a28" or 29" tire is more in your ball park with only 1.5 inches of lift.

My 1985 has 6 inches of lift and 31" clear fine, but 33" tires rub with no trimming.

i think you should be able to with wider rims and a little trimming. i could have 245's on my 92 with sagging springs but it wouldnt look good.

uh, i fit 30s with zero inches of lift on my first gen bronco II, why would he need four inches of lift for a tire that is only one inch taller?

Ok. So you have learned to ignore the rubbing and have trimmed your fenders then? Come on fess up, they rub when you flex right?!?

what is this "flex" of which you speak?

i have a TTB sir, and flex is not a word i understand.

I have 27" right now and a ton of space, I really can't see needing 4 inches of lift to fit tires that are only 4 inches bigger. Not if I'm trying to take up some of that space.

Ok then in words you can understand. Wheel Travel! Particularly Upward Wheel Travel. A-R-T-I-C-U-L-A-T-I-O-N!

I am not calling you out and saying that It will not fit. It's more than acceptable for doing some mild wheeling yes. I have a friend with a 90 BII with 30" and a 2 inch body lift, completely stock suspension. With the fenders trimmed about 2 inches, when twisted up off road it hits the fenders and bends sheet metal and cuts the tread.

You have a TTB with no articulation? I am sorry I am going to have to raise the B.S. flag on that one. TTB is all about articulation, that is the beauty of it. Don't believe the myth that it has no "Flex". TTB suspensions are easily capable of 18+" of articulation on a Ranger, Explorer or Bronco II with only a minimal amount of modification.

Take a look at this link from right here at TRS and judge for yourself what fits and clears. You say your fine, great, it fits what you do with the vehicle. I for one hate tire rub, it sucks.

There are more than enough trucks out there with too little room for the tires they run. But we love em anyway.

Post me a pic of your truck so I can admire it. I love BII and all things Ranger Related.

And I will rescind and say after looking at the chart that 4" is not necessary.
All that is required is a 3" body lift to fit 31's.
Thats what I love about TRS. People already have done all the research for us.
Cheers!

i was just being a smartass about the flex thing.

i can steer lock to lock without rubbing, and my sway bar limits flex to a point that i don't think i can get it to rub.

Man that is one sweet BII. Looks like it just came off the paint line. Beautiful!

only about a year old on the paint, but they did a half assed job and i don't know who did the work.

it's already chipping off, I'm gonna pay to have it redone once i get the transmission issues sorted out.

needs a new hatch anyway, so i can put the new one on then get the whole truck painted.

31's fit on a stock '89-92 with stock wheels, on a BII they will probably rub in the back (but explorer leaves will probably help), they will rub up front too but it's just on the sway bar and radius arms, after a while the corners of the tires will wear off (not a big deal) and just remove the sway bar... here's a pic of mine with no lift, sagging springs and 31's:

those that say they won't fit, try it!

the tire chart really needs to be adjusted for the difference in the front fenders of '89-92 rangers, they'll fit 31's stock where a '83-88 can only fit 30's (235 75 15's)

the only time I've cut a tire was when I was on two tires... front drivers and rear passenger, didn't really hurt anything, it involved some skinny pedal and I didn't make it through what I was going for (bald all terrains didn't help)
