I was wondering if anyone out there ever used a plastic set up mock up 302 block for there ranger v8 swap?if so how much easier is it then pulling in an out a regular 302 short block?was contemplating getting one but can't find any under like 400.is it worth it?or just do it the regular way.

Eh, get a front frame section. Much more practical.

If you would weld casters and legs to it, end result is an engine stand and mock up jig all in one.

I used a bare block to place the mounts for my 351,I'll bet you could find a junk 302 block to use for a lot less than $400.

How much do those weigh.150 plus lbs?the mock up one is only 30lbs.and by the time I put headers upper lower intake it LL weigh quite a bit.i do c alot of those though

I didn't do any of that. I put the 4.0 rubber mounts in the same holes my 2.3 mounts came out of and let the transmission help locate the engine in the bay.

My truck handles pretty good for a ranger with twin I beam and no sway bars.

Really! U didn't have to drill any holes or anything?the 4.0 rubber mounts bolt right up to the 302 engine?what plates did u use?

I paid half that for the running 302 that has been in my truck for 9 years.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could buy a junk 302 for peanuts and strip everything off the block to make it lighter. It's still going to way more than a plastic dummy but I assume you've got a motor crane or chain fall to lower your engine in place that would work to lower the block in there. You're in Maine, you should know that it causes New England Yankees pain to waste money.

Ricks rangers adapter plates on ebay and 4.0 rubber mounts from rock auto. Cut the alignment dowel off the top side of rubber mounts

Y did u go with those motor mount and plate setup when most people on here say to use advanced adapters mounts or convertible foxbody 5.0 mounts?

I plan on trying the sn95 mounts.i was told there the exact same as the foxbody 5.0 very mounts.which sn95 is my donor car.we LL c how those work.i was told they make engine sit a tad higher that your regular plate rubber mounts do.but not sure how much more to make a difference

I bet u did!i thought that price was pretty crazy

He had it listed as an '84 with no pics which is kinda meh, for the '87 roller I knew it to be as soon as I saw the intake and a few numbers I was all over it.

If you spend the money on a mock block, you can probably recoup your money trading it back and forth with other people....
