Ok so my dad has a 1992 4x4 Ranger XLT 4.0 with an automatic transmission. The current reading on the odometer is just over 327,000 miles and still running strong. there has been no internal parts repair or replace ment in either the engine or the transmission. Just normal stuff like u-Joints, starter, alternator, that kind of stuff. It has never been abused but used a lot to get firewood, and haul all sorts of stuff. (a lot of times more weight than should have been put on it.) I just thought this was kind of neat. I have never heard of a ranger making it over 300,000 miles before.

You're not the first, though it's not that common.

Mine's just over 1/4 million now. Give me a few years.

I got 262,000 out of my original 2.9 engine and it still ran when it was pulled.

The cook were I work has a '98 4 cyl Ranger with 300,000 Mi on it. I was actually asking him about it last night and he said he just Changes the oil every 3,000 mi, a tune up every 50,000, then just tiers and brakes.

I wish I knew how many mine has on it, my odometer is stuck at 114,~ ish and my tile says exempt on the mileage.

My 91' 2.9L had 320K on it when I sold it. No major problems at all.

My first one has 379,000 or something like that...I took the odometer out of it and put it in my new one...even though the second ranger only had about 250,000 on it...and the short block only has 140,000 on it...

I change the oil every 5,000 km and do the usual tune-up stuff to it...

I met a girl a while back that had a Ranger, AND LOVED IT! (consequently I rather liked her too)

In a strange twist of irony she just messaged me earlier today with an update.

it just passed 426,000 miles! 2nd 4 banger, original M50D (but no 5th anymore), same 7.5" rear and essentially everything else except for parts that regularly need to be changed is all original. It looks damn good too, especially for being a Michigan truck. It's virtually rust free.

mines at 306 000 km, and i will drive it untill the odometer rolls over.

My sister's BF drove a '96 4.0 auto 2WD for 317,000 before they had the first major issue, a blown head gasket. The truck was never right after that, it sold at auction with around 327K for $3500!!

my 92 had 350k when i got my 02... it still ran pretty good with the 2nd 2.3 that was in there

I have 344,XXX on my 4.0. The only thing that I have done to it is head gaskets and one head. Oh forgot to add still has 25-30 psi oil pressure at idle warm.
