300,000 Mile Ranger

how much money do you think was spent to get the truck to that mileage?it can make your head spin!

Compare it to the cost of gasoline (even at $1/gallon) to get it to that mileage, and it won't spin quite so much over maintenance.

At $4/gallon, it costs about $60,000 to drive 300K miles. So you blew a few G's on maintenance. BFD.

I would say getting 300k out of a A4LD is nothing short of a miracle! Though it isn't a first.

i was refering to the cost of fuel,as its obviously the highest expense. sorry i could have been a little clearer but the way i worded it i thought someone would bust out a calculator for my lazy ass and post it up, thanks:D

I'm gonna try to get 300k out of my A4LD. I just hit 140k last week, so I still have a long way to go. :D

Try around 400K ....

its relativly common now believe it or not, rangers are tanks and run forever aslong as there maintained, my old ranger's first motor died with 327k miles on it when the block warped due to freezin issues.....the trans (original) went into a nother ranger thats still being driven every day with no issues, and hes put another 100k on that trans since it went in the truck...

Nearly everything I have is low mileage (relatively)...

'00 Ranger is at 84,480 mi
'88 BII is at 123,000 mi when it ate a valve and I dropped in a 4.0 around the same mi
'89 choptop is at 95,650 mi with a motor of unknown mileage (someone grabbed the gauge cluster before I could note the mileage, but I believe it to be around 100k)
'86 BII is unknown mileage (no cluster and didnt' run when I got it)
'89 Ranger is around 93k to the best of my knowledge.

I did, however, fix up and sell an 89 BII awhile back... to the best of my knowlege the trans was replaced at least once, but everything else was stock... and near as I could tell it was between 180k and 250k miles and ran like a champ once I did a total tune-up. Kinda wish I wouldn't have sold that truck...

I've got the A4LD also and its just a few Gs shy of 200K. Damn some of these ultra high mileage vehicles make my 197K look like its still being broken in.

I think if you change the tranny fluid every 50k or 60k and the filters (if applicable) you should be able to run them forever...unless, of course, you slogan is "if you can't find em, grind em..."

Sold my '90 ranger last year with 289K on it. The engine all original, trans was replaced at 138K. Shift rail plugs leaked and I ran it dry. I bought it back in '99 with 125K and Still see it around town to this day.

Current '95 has 267K, all original AFAIK...

I'm aiming for 250,000 out of mine. Mine is from Buffalo originally, and has some rust issues. Right now I have 195K on it, and I'm getting ready for the 200K mile maint. It seems like I just did this stuff a short 4 years ago when i bought the truck. At 250K, we will see, Either it becomes my work truck and I get a new one, or if the price of everything is too high, I'll keep driving it.

Also, Citoriplus used to have a 300K mile ranger (I think it was an 01 with the last of the Limas in it....But I haven't seen him around in a very long time)
