3 or 4 turns lock-to-lock?

I did the conversion to 1995 dual piston caliper front brakes on my 1992 Ranger. All is well except I used to get 4 turns lock-to-lock out of the steering but now I get slightly over 3 turns.

I did have the truck aligned after I did all the front end work. Wondering if there is some external adjustment I need done to correct this? The 4 turns lock-to-lock is very handy when moving my trailer around and I would like to get it working this way again.

There are stops under there to limit how far wheels can be turned. When you hit the stops you are done. I don't know if they are adjustable.

I think I would take look at a 95 and see how they are different from your 92. My guess is the different calipers are hitting the stops earlier.

Agreed, probably hitting the stops sooner due to increased size of something.

Yup, it seems the spindles are thicker at least in the area that contacts the stops.

I found this out at the local alignment shop. Their suggestion: grind some of the stop off to allow for greater travel to get back the 4 turns lock-to-lock. I think I'm going to borrow a die grinder, lift up the front end and take a shot at doing this.

I really like the better brakes up front but really like the tight turning radius a lot since a pull trailers with it often.

Wondering if a note should be added to the brake upgrade section as others may also experience this unwanted side affect of the upgrade. Specifically, I I put 1997 spindles from a 2WD extended cab Ranger on my 1992 2wd extended cab Ranger and experienced this reduction in turning radius.
