3" fabricated spindle for weekend warrior?

So I am debating between two options, running a camburg 5.5 kit or simply running a BTF uca, springs, shocks, etc. I don't get to take my truck out as often as I would like and the money saved would partially pay for deavers and shocks for the rear. Assuming fiberglass fenders and bedsides with a 33" tire for both options, how much am I missing out on the fabricated spindle and ground clearance?

not much. the truck in my avatar ran a fabtech spindle with btf uppers/camburg coils before i switched to a btf mid travel kit that used the same fabtech spindle. there were 50-60,000 miles on the spindles total before i sold the truck. the new owner has jumped her multiple times and rolled the truck without damage to the suspension.

They rolled it? Sorry to hear that, it's tough to see something you cared for damaged.

Right now my biggest concern/hope is that after upgrading the suspension I find myself taking my truck off-road as much as possible. 5.5 kits don't seem to increase travel as much as add strength to stock parts. The BTF uca is a quality part that allows you to use a quality spring and purpose built shocks.

What scares me is aftermarket snouts in cast iron spindles. Even worst is a machine shop breaking/bending my stock snouts to swap them into Camburg spindles. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I DD this truck daily and I can't have a broken snout preventing me from getting to work.

yeah, they rolled it. it's "rebuilt" and caged, but not the same. oh well, the cash they paid me with wasn't fake, so i don't care.

the truck has the stock fabtech snouts in the cast spindle. i drove accordingly and didn't treat the truck like it was a race vehicle. it wasn't the fastest, but i was out there having fun which is what counts the most.

Been emailing Brandon at BTF fabrication and talked myself into buying their 6.0 performance kit for 98+ xlt Rangers. Should hopefully be placing my order next weekend if no unexpected bills pop up!

Ever get your kit? I've been considering BTF's performance lift too.

Any idea how much travel could increase with just BTF's upper arms?
