Hey guys my truck came stock with 3.27 gears and i found a 8.8 with 4.10s that im getting ready to swap into my truck. Right now im running 31's and I just wanted to know from people that have 31s with 4.10 if there truck is alot more peppier cause right now my truck is so slow? Thanks guys

yea but make sure you change your front gears too before putting it in four wheel drive lol. but it should make a huge difference

big difference in off the line power, easier clutch action.should be just under 3,000rpm's in 5th at 65mph

Yes, it will be drastic. In a good way. You can *probably* comfortably run 33's now. More comfortably than you are currently running your' 31's I bet.

for u it will be the difference between night and day

Right now I cant afford the regear the front so im taking out the front driveshaft. Do you guys think it will help my MPG?

Perhaps, if you can gain a gear and drop some RPM's then yes. If you can't drop some RPMS due to taller gears, then no.

I can use overdrive on the freeway still. Do you guys think I should do the 4.10s or hold out for an axle that has 3.73s?

if you plan to go to 33's go with the 410's no sence regearing twice. 33's with 373's will nbe simmilar to the 31's with the 327's. 410's and 31's are a good combo. plenty up gitty up can easily light up a set of 31's with 410's. i was getting 18mpg with 31's i 03 with a 4.0 with 410's untill i went up to 33's. not sure what i am truly gettig now because i never got the speedo recalibrated.

You should gain MPG. Lower RPM does NOT always equal higher MPG, the engine needs to run within it's optimal RPM range for good MPG (4.10s & 31s should easily put it there on a 4.0L in 5th gear).

I run 33 with 4.10 and a 2.8l and can break them loose on a welded reared! You will love the torque gains from the re-gear. I also get 18 mpg. So with 31s and 5th gear I think you should gain some mpg and you will notice a huge diffrence.
