Look in the Axles FAQ post up above. Somewhere about the middle should be some info & links about gear swapping.
Basically it's a tedious, though not overly difficult job. You'll need several special tools, good knowledge about how it works (what shims need to be swapped to effect a certain change in the gear contact pattern) and LOTS of patience. If you don't possess all of those then no doubt you're bound to end up with a disaster on your hands.
I did the gears myself on my BII years ago. I just kept reading & reading & reading until I felt comfortable enough to do it, then I read some more. Finally I procured some tools and went at it. So far I've put about 45K miles on it and haven't had any issues.
