3.0 u code engine from 98 taurus??

hi,
i want to know if any one has converted a 98 taurus 3.0 u code automatic to fit in a 2001 3.0 u code ranger 4x4 auto. my ranger eng siezed and i have a 40,000 mile taurus with a rusted frame to use

Yep! It's pretty common. The long blocks should be the same, but you'll need to keep the ranger head gaskets, lower intake manifold, exhaust, and maybe the accessories. Should be a bolt-in deal.

do you think the heads are the same but the gaskets are different??
do you know if the bell housing bolts right up?

Just the head gaskets are different.
The bellhousing bolt pattern bolts right up.

the taurus eng is running fine in the ranger, just changed the head gaskets.
